Chapter 959: I’m A Hoarder

During my first and second trip to Japan I wasn’t a hoarder of tickets, receipts, business cards or postcards …. But during my third time in Japan I started collecting little things, mainly tickets to attractions such as the Ghibli Museum because it’s unique. I also have other generic tickets like my JR Passes and train reservation tickets. And now every time I goto Japan I seem to keep collecting paper! I think it’s nice to have have a little memory book or some sort…just something nice to look back on. My main book is the blue one which has Haru from the Anime FREE! on the front. I’ve always like his character, but Makoto is my favourite. I usually goto Japan 1-2 times a year so I might run out of slots quite quickly. After I run out of plastic slots (which is soon) I have 2 more memo/photo books which I got for free at the Pokemon centre in Sapporo.

  1. I agree! That’s not my definition of hoarding. I’d say you’re keeping precious memories that will be with you for a lifetime. Sometimes little ticket stubs and other seemingly insignificant mementos bring a bigger smile to my face than pictures, even when the pictures capture a scene in spectacular splendor.

  2. I do the same thing! Anytime I go on a trip, I save all of the tickets, passes, pamphlets etc. I LOVE being able to look back through them 🙂 I saw a post once where someone made a memory box for each trip and had a bookshelf full of them. They would be labeled the place and year, like “Japan 2019”, and put all of the things inside, including any printed pictures. I thought it was a great idea, but my bookshelves are full haha
