The Fuji Shibazakura Festival (富士芝桜まつり) is one of Japan’s most beautiful and popular events each spring. Unfortunately by the time the bus arrived, due to the heavy traffic…Fuji San was masked away by clouds. But it didn’t stop the beauty of pink paradise!! Shibazakura (Pink Moss/Phlox Moss) is the main attraction!! Last time I saw anything like this was when I was in Hokkaido, Takinoue. Not only deep pink, some are baby pink, lilac, white, yellow…All just so beautiful!! The festival is usually held here each year from mid April to early June.
It was extremely busy when I visited during the start of May. The traffic was pretty bad and by the time I arrived…it was crowded as hell as everyone slowly slowly made their way around, following the route. But by the afternoon it got less busy. Shibazakura are one of my favourite types of flowers, simply because pink is my all time favourite colour. There was also a shop and I remember buying ALOT…and some food stands in case you get hungry. Overall, it was a wonderful visit and I enjoyed every single moment. Now I want to grow some…
