The restaurant is called Toyama Black Ramen Menya Iroha (富山ブラックラーメン 麺家いろは). It is located very close to Toyama Station, across the road, in the Toyama CiC building on the basement floor. I was actually on the way to Tokyo but I still had time to grab some late lunch! I’ve been meaning to try BLACK RAMEN after seeing some pictures online. The dish derives from its strong soy sauce flavour where the broth itself looks almost jet black!
I ordered their signature dish which came with a lot of slices of char siu / bbq pork, a boiled egg and onions on top. The ramen noodles itself is very smooth and very delicious, I think taste-wise it was great half way through…I had trouble finishing this because the portion was so big, although the broth isn’t as salty as it appears, it’s quite heavy on the stomach with the pork and all. The broth is packed with flavour!! Made from of soy sauce, salt, and miso. Not the healthiest option out there, but now I can say I have eaten Toyama Black Ramen!!

I want very much to go to Japan, but I think I’ll pass on this one, haha.
