Super Hotel Aomori (スーパーホテル青森)
One of the cosiest yet simpliest hotels. All bookings come with a free breakfast but unfortunately I had to skip it the next morning because I had to leave extra early to catch the train up to Hakodate. I actually went straight to hotel during the morning to drop off my luggage at the counter, when I came back for it to check-in I was given 3 gifts. Also, before I get to mention…When checking in and making a payment, you can just pop by the machine by the counter – you will receive a recipe and a pin code to access your room. Like most hotels in Japan, the check in time is 3pm.
The lovely staff member told me that I can choose from a selection of amenities which were stuff like: small packets of bath salts, face mask, face creams, lotions, shower cap etc. I forgot to take a pic because I used everything almost straight away. I picked out a rose bath salt packet, shower cap and face mask. I thought this was pretty amazing, some hotels provide these things as a free gift anyway and some don’t. It just depends where you stay. But, it was my first time being asked what I wanted and having a choice was great!
My room was very very cosy, very quiet despite that fact I was facing the Main Street. I slept like a baby that night. The next morning I checked out straight away, you don’t have to goto the front desk to check out, you can just simply leave before 10am.
The hotel is located in a very good area where you have Lawson’s just downstairs, across the street is the bus stop where you can get yourself to the main station. If you’re driving there is parking available for 700 yen per night.
Overall I really enjoyed my short stay here, the room was small but big enough for 1 person. I paid ￥7,600 for the night and booked directly on the official website. I would come here again.
