Chapter 647: Shin-Yamaguchi Station, Santoka Taneda Statue (新山口駅・種田山頭火像)

Shin-Yamaguchi Station (新山口駅)

From Shin-Yamaguchi Station I was heading out to Iwakuni to see the Kintai Bridge (錦帯橋). I hadn’t planned going to Iwakuni on the same day because I didn’t know if I had enough time but, it had to be done! As I had a little time before the Shinkansen came, I found an interesting statue!

Just outside the entrance and near the clock, you will come across the Santoka Taneda Statue (種田山頭火像). A famous Haiku Poet that had a unique style of writing that didn’t fit the norm at the time. I’m no expert on the topic, but I thought the statue looked very realistic that it could come-alive anytime!!
