Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park (かみゆうべつチューリップ公園)
The Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park is located in a town called Yubetsu in the Monbetsu District of Hokkaido. Spring in Japan is usually associated with Cherry Blossom, but here in Kamiyubetsu, it’s all about the rainbow colours. When you say tulip, you don’t often think of Japan, but Holland. In fact, tulips are actually native to Turkey and Central Asia.
So visiting a tulip park was a brand new experience for me as I’ve never seen so many. Last year on the 3rd of June to be exact, I was told by a farmer they harvest most of the tulips the day before so what was left looked a bit sad. However, it was more than enough for pretty pictures and still looked very beautiful.
