The Sapporo Clock Tower (札幌時計台) is one of the main attractions of the city. Apart from Sapporo Beer, this clock tower is almost like a symbol. The building was constructed during 1878 and was actually the drill-hall of the Sapporo Agricultural College. The clock itself wasn’t installed into the tower until 1881. As of current it is a museum serving a good history lesson of Sapporo. There is a 200 yen admission fee to enter, but unfortunately when I visited it was closed for maintenance. It’s located only about a good 10 min walk from JR Sapporo Station so it’s very easy access, literally just down the road and you can’t miss it.
