Chapter 456: First Impressions of Hakodate

Getting off the train and setting foot outside of Hakodate station felt like I’ve entered a new place, literally. The atmosphere was extremely different to Sapporo, a bit laid back, spacious and similar to Kumamoto City. Hakodate is the 3rd largest city in Hokkaido and is very famous for its fresh seafood! It’s also one of Japan’s first harbour cities for international trade, maybe that’s why when I came out of the station I could smell the salty sea? Or it could have been because a fish market was nearby!
