Overall, one of best weekends in my life!
I had breakfast at Paul’s inside the St. Pancras station and swiftly made my way to the check in area with plenty of time to spare. Although my train was slightly delayed by about 20 mins, I was a little worried at first because I saw an earlier train was cancelled. But I still got to Paris in no time! I was in a very giddy mood!
Originally I was going to stay at the Hôtel de la Félicité but then saw some negative reviews and the location was slightly inconvenient, so I cancelled within the free cancellation period and rebooked myself in to stay at the Hôtel Opéra Maintenon. It was located on a street that had endless Japanese restaurants. The hotel staff were very welcoming and wonderful people. The room was a good size for 1 person and the bed was so comfy that I slept like a baby that night. If I ever visit Paris again…This is definitely where I’m staying again.
I had dinner at a cute cafe called Aki (アキ カフェ) I decided to go for something that would fill me up until later that night, a bowl of chicken karaage on rice with a small portion of salad on the side, and a lovely matcha chiffon cake for dessert! Everything tasted amazing for under €20.00. Especially, THE CAKE! It was the best! From the cafe I walked to the Palais Royal Musée du Louvre station which was 10 minutes by foot, from there I took the Metro 1 La Defense and got off at Porte Maillot and the venue was literally so big you can’t miss it!
There were so many people cosplaying as their favourite character! Excited faces and loud chatters! On the way in they were selling merchandise and I just couldn’t get away from getting 2 t-shirts! Got some water at the counter with my broken French and proceeded to the hall. I was so LUCKY! No one sat in front of me and my view was clear throughout the performance. I’ve only been to 1 other live musical this year which was the Kuroshitsuji Campania performance in Kurume Fukuoka (Chapter 400) so this was a big surprise when it turned out to be more of a concert with special effects and amazing music!! The acting was all spot on and once they started singing and dancing, the crowd was all set to fire away their newly purchased glow sticks! I had so much fun, also the sailors ran up and down the stage, blowing kisses and giving hi5’s to really engage with the audience!! My hands still hurt from clapping but it was worth it!
I did get teary at one point and the story was just so nostalgic because Sailor Moon was such a huge part of my childhood. Especially when this musical was base on the first season of the manga/anime. I had such an amazing time and would love to goto more Anime Musicals in the future!
